Business Office Space Expanding at Hilton Hall

Whilst the ‘credit crunch’ is improving many people are still looking for work and considering starting up their own business. Office magnet takes a break

Director of Hilton Hall has taken a tumble and has broken his arm. This has not detered him however and even though the break is very nasty and painful he is still keeping a pulse on the business. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Hilton Parish News

The Parish Council would like to thank the owners of Hilton Hall for inviting it to contribute to it’s Hilton Herald.

Many people do not realise that in England alone there are over 9,000 Parish and town councils, and for us, Hilton Parish Council is the tier of Local Government, which is closest to the people and in touch with the grass roots.

Hilton Parish Council is hoping to forge a much closer relationship with the local community and would welcome any residents who would like to attend the Parish Council meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of the month at Hilton Hall. at the beginning of every Parish Council meeting there is a session for Public Participation where members of the public can address the Parish Council and of course, the Parish Council can keep the residents in the picture about Parish Council aims and activities.

The Parish Council is currently looking into obtaining funding to provide a play area on the central island in Park Road, this project is aimed at providing a facility for a wide range of people from very young children to teenagers.

The Council is also looking into having trees planted in the highway verges in various locations in the Parish, which of course we know, will not give an instant affect but will ensure that as a community we are doing all we can to provide the best possible environment for the future residents of Hilton.

As a Parish Council, we are extremely proud of the historical sites we have in Hilton and we are currently supporting our District Councillor (Bob Cope) in his campaign to have the Portobello Tower brought back to it’s former glory.

The parish Council is very happy with the new links that are being forged with Hilton Hall and together we are hoping to raise the profile of Hilton Parish. Hilton is a tight knit community and it’s Parish Council would welcome the opportunity to take on board the views/ideas of it’s residents – so that everyone, not just the Parish Council has a part in making sure that everyone knows that Hilton Parish is one to be very proud of.

Meerkats go in reverse

Hilton Hall is keeping it’s name the Meerkats have decided not to move and change the name to Meerkat Hall, as they find the climate in South Staffordshire unsuitable.

Our last 3 swans have left for the winter. One manged to knock himself out when he hit a tree. His friends flew off without him in the dirction of Birmingham Airport, but having taken 3 days to recover he then flew off.

Office-Conference call

The Meerkat Convention which was to be held at Hilton Hall has been postponed, as they are now considering taking a virtual office and are instead having a conference call. The postponement was caused by the threat of a protest from squirrel and rabbit activists
